Artist & Tour Management, Contemporary Music Center
August 2016 - November 2016
During the Fall semester of my Junior year of college, I studied at the Contemporary Music Center located in Brentwood, TN. This off-campus study program allowed me to have a greater in-depth study of Business within the music industry. I completed 16 credit hours through this program and received internship credit as well. Each week students coordinate weekly concerts to showcase new and original music by student artists. Throughout the semester, I was responsible for managing one of the student artists and creating a portfolio of all her work and accomplishments throughout the semester. At the end of the semester our "final" consists of going on our own tour, which is coordinated by all the students. One of my positions on the tour was to establish a marketing plan and collaborate with multiple venues to promote the "CMC Live Tour".
Programming Department, Honeywell Center
June 2016 - August 2016
Through my management course my freshman year of college, I initially interviewed the Programming Manger of the Honeywell Center for a project. Over a year later and I was officially an intern under the manager I originally interviewed! This internship taught me a lot in terms of Contract Riders and negotiations agents/managers make with venues. I sat in on various phone calls and was "walked" through e-mail conversations about upcoming shows and shows being added to the venue calendar.
